Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than 100 years. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first major role. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
